As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. (Latitude, Longitude): 37.43583, -82.3475 Fishtrap Lakes' Dam Site Recreation Area is located 14 miles from Pikeville, Kentucky-Route from Pikeville to Fishtrap Lake Dam Site Area is via US Route 23 South 7 Miles to US Route 460 East 4 Miles to State Route 1499 then 3 Miles to the Fishtrap Lake Dam Site Recreation Area. Shelter # 1 is the first shelter on your right as one enters the lower area. This is the first right turn as one enters the Dam Site Recreation Area located approximately one mile below the dam. Located along the same roadway Shelter #2 is the second shelter on your right near the end of the recreation area. Fishtrap Lakes' Grapevine Recreation Area is located along State Route 194 at Phyllis, Kentucky. Shelter # 3 is located on the right approximately 1/4 mile from the entrance area.
