Description

Fishing Creek Campground is located on the scenic 98,000 acre project of Lake Cumberland, which stretches 101 miles down the Cumberland River. Fishing Creek is located 5 miles west from the growing town of Somerset, KY. This campground is surrounded by hardwood forests and overlooks a shaded creek area. Restaurants, shopping, gas stations are conveniently located nearby. While staying in this campground, guests and visitors can enjoy boating, wildlife viewing, fishing, and swimming at the adjoining swimming beach. Offering 46 campsites which include 10 tent only sites, amenities include water and electric hook ups, a shower house, dump station, boat launch, playground, laundry facilities, and a swimming area.

Due to invasive species concerns out of state firewood is prohibited from being brought into campgrounds

The campground is open 20 Apr-24 Sep and sites are $17-$24/night. There is a 2-day minimum stay for weekends and a 3-day minimum stay for holiday weekends. Attendants are on duty and more information about this area may be obtained by calling (606) 679-5174.
Due to lowerlake levels, Fishing Creek's launching ramp and swimming beach are unusable and lakeshore sites are not accessible by water nor do they have direct access to water; however, the campground will remain open. Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance.
2 night minimum on weekends. 3 night minimum on holidays.

From Somerset, KY, take Hwy 80 W for 5 mi, turn right on Hwy and follow for 2 miles, road ends in water. The recreation area entrance will be on the left side of the road at the bottom of the hill.
