EAGLE CABIN (AK), AK

Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, oil stove for heat, propane wall furnace, and an outside toilet. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads, cook stoves, cooking gear and food. Cabin users must bring #1 oil for the oil stove that heats the cabin. Access by boat or wheeled plane only. The person holding the reservation must be at least 18 years of age, and must a member of the party using the cabin. Use of this cabin by a commercial operator, such as an outfitter or guide, is NOT allowed. There are NO discounts for Golden Age or Golden Access Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1 - September 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1 - April 30.

Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone.

Same day reservations are allowed for this cabin. Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. All garbage and food must be packed out.

Located 8 air miles east of Yakutat on east bank of Situk River. Access by wheeled plane, 1800 foot airstrip near cabin. Access by boat downstream from Nine Mile Bridge on Situk River approximately 3 miles. Access by trail 3 miles from Nine Mile Bridge on Forest Hwy 10.
