Description

Defeated Creek Park Campground is located on Cordell Hull Lake on the Cumberland River System. The lake itself was named after Cordell Hull, one of America's outstanding statesmen and one of Tennessee's finest volunteers who was born in a log cabin in the foothills of the Cumberland Mountains. Defeated Creek Campground is located seven miles from Carthage, TN on Cordell Hull Lake. Summer temperatures range from the 60s to the 90s. There is a marina adjacent to the campground and two shelters in the area. The campground offers 155 sites, including tent only sites. Visitors enjoy a Bluegrass Festival the second weekend in June. Additional amenities include hot showers, a dump station, bike trails, a Campground with 155 sites equipped with electric and water hookups, 63 sites have playground, public marina, swimming area, picnic shelters, sewer hookups, laundry facilities and public telephones. Additional Amenities: Six mile Bearwaller Gap Trail (not a loop Trail), bike trail, hot showers, swimming beach boat ramp, playground, and picnic shelter. Trailhead located near campground. The following site numbers have CONCRETE CAMPING PAD: 005, 006, 007, and 009.

When making multiple reservations, please inform your party of site numbers and the name that appears on the reservation. Golden Age/Access cards may only be used for 1 site which is occupied by the cardholder. No vehicles or operation of these vehicles that fail to meet State of Tennessee requirements for operation on State highways are allowed to be operated in the park; including Golf Carts, Go Carts, ATVs, Scooters, etc. There is a limit of 1 RV, trailer or other camping vehicle per site. RV campers may only have 1 tent per site while campers with no RV or other camping vehicle are limited to 2 tents per site. Tents must be placed 30 feet from the site.
