DEERLICK CREEK (AL), AL

Description

Deerlick Creek Campground is located on Holt Lake northeast of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The damming of the Black Warrior River formed the lake and provides opportunities for water related activities and other outdoor recreation for the public. Holt Lake offers areas for campers, boaters, and dayusers. Deerlick Creek Campground has 46 sites, 40 with electric and water hookups and 6 primitive sites. Additional amenities include a dump station, laundry facilities, hot showers, a boat ramp, pay phone, playground, multi-purpose court, fishing piers, a group shelter, swimming beach, hiking trails, and a paved bicycle trail. The hiking and bicycle trails are for campers only.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance of arrival. This campground requires a 2 day minimum stay on weekends. This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends. Hiking and bicycle trails are for campers only. Deerlick Creek Campground is open from March 1st to November 30th. Sites are available for $10-$18/night. Gates are open and attendants are on duty from 7am until 10pm daily. No ATV's or ORV's allowed. A maximum of two vehicles are permitted per site. Additional vehicles will be assessed an extra vehicle fee which will be collected at the park. Electric and gas scooters are not allowed in the park unless they are insured, registered, have license tag, and are street legal. All customers will be assessed an area usage fee. Golden Age, Golden Access, and America the Beautiful Senior and Access passes are applicable. Deerlick Creek Campground's phone number is (205) 759-1591. Park Attendant Contractors cannot perform transfers Thursday-Saturday or on Holiday Weekends, during the peak season. As of March 1, 2009 the campground is 100% reservable. Campers are still welcome to walk-in if sites are available. We recommend you call the park to check site availability.

From I-59, take Exit 73, MacFarland Blvd Exit. Go West on MacFarland Blvd/Hwy 82 for approximately 4.2 miles. Veer right onto Rice Mine RD. At stoplight turn left onto Rice Mine RD. Turn right at the stoplight onto New Watermelon Road and follow it for 3.4 miles. Turn right at stop sign onto Lake Nicol Road, follow Lake Nicol Rd for 3.4 miles to Deerlick Rd. Turn right onto Deerlick Rd for approximately 3.2 miles to Deerlick Park.
