Canoeing on the river below Pomme de Terre Dam is available year round. However river conditions vary dramatically depending upon the outflow from the dam. Water levels can rise or fall quickly with changes in releases or weather conditions. It is incumbent upon individuals to know the conditions and their own capabilities and take appropriate cautions. River outflow information can be obtained by contacting the Pomme de Terre Project Office at 417-745-6411 or at http://www.nwk.usace.army.mil/pt/daily.cfm . Currently we are discharging 2,500 cfs.
