As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. COOKSON BEND (OK), OK

Description

In Oklahoma's Green Country, Cookson Bend Campground on Lake Tenkiller is a recreational paradise. Camping, fishing, sightseeing, scuba diving and picnicking are just a few of the activities enjoyed by visitors. A beautiful view of 200 foot limestone bluffs can be seen across the water from the campground. There are 121 campsites, shower/toilets, swimming beaches, playground, and picnic shelters and boat ramps. There is a marina concession at the entrance to the park.

Alerts and Important Information

Walk-in season starts on Oct 1, 2008 and ends on Dec 31, 2008. All sites affected during the season will be available as walk-ups only. Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance for overnight sites. Reservations must be made at least 1 day in advance for day use sites. This campground requires you to reserve 2 nights on weekends, and 3 nights on holiday weekends. An attendant is on duty from April through September. The entrance gate opens at 6:00am and closes at 10:00pm. For customers wanting to reserve the former group area, there is no longer a group rate available. A reservation needs to be made for Group Shelter #1 and each individual campsite that is desired (the site numbers are G1 thru G10).
