Description
Chilkoot Campground is located in the Sierra National Forest 12 miles east of Oakhurst, California. This 14 single family site campground is shaded by Douglas Fir and Cedar trees and at an elevation of 4,600 feet and average summertime temperatures in the 80s makes a pleasant camping experience. Chilkoot Campground makes a good base camp for activities like: day visit to Yosemite National Park, paddling on Willow Creek, float down the rapids of Merced River-South Fork or hike the Buena Vista Trail.

Alerts and Important Information
This is not Chilkoot Campground in the Plumas National Forest
Reservations must be made at least 3 days a week
3night minimum on holiday weekends
Fee for extra vehicles collected on site
No ATV/OHV in campgrounds
No refund for bad weather
Pets must be leashed at all times
Quiet hours 10PM to 6AM
No useage for firearms, chainsaws or fireworks in the campground.

Directions from Fresno:
Take Highway 41 through Oakhurst, California. Turn east on Forest Road
222 (Bass Lake turnoff) and continue on for 7 miles. Turn left onto
Beashore Road, follow Beashore Road for 4 miles to the Chilkoot Campground.
