FIREWOOD ALERT!: Leave Your Firewood At Home!
We need your help to protect our forests! A firewood quarantine has been established for much of the state of Virginia. In general, firewood can harbor insect pests under the bark and in the wood. The transport of infested firewood has been identified as a leading cause in the introduction of harmful forest insects into un-infested forest areas. The best way to prevent a new infestation of these invasive pests is to get your firewood AFTER arrival. Help us keep our parks pest free by leaving your firewood at home!
CHILATCHEE CREEK (AL), ALDescriptionIn Alabama's Black Prairie Belt, Chilatchee Creek Campground offers excellent fishing for bass, crappie, bluegill and catfish. The park also provides good bow hunting opportunities for whitetail deer and wild turkey. Numerous fishing tournaments and annual festivals are held in the immediate area.Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important InformationThe campground is open March 1 to November 13 and sites range from $16-$18/night. An attendant is on duty and the campground telephone number is (334) 573- 2562. First mile of campground entrance road is not paved. One camping unit and two vehicles are covered by camping fee. There is a $2 fee for each extra vehicle.
