CAMPGROUND RECEIVES IMPROVEMENTS: Charbonneau Campground will be closed to the public from December 23, 2009 - March 31, 2010 to allow contractors to add improvements. The campground will have a new drinking water system installed, each campsite will be upgraded to 50 amp electrical service, and the roadways will be re-paved. These improvements are being made possible under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. CHARBONNEAU PK (WA), WADescriptionCharbonneau Park, in Eastern Washington, is located on Lake Sacajawea, formed by Ice Harbor Lock and Dam on the Lower Snake River. The park was named for Toussaint Charbonneau, who was an interpreter for Lewis and Clark and was husband to Sacajawea, the famous Shoshone interpreter on the Corps of Discovery.Charbonneau Park provides recreational opportunities for boaters, campers, hikers, bikers, upland and waterfowl hunters, and Anglers alike. Getting There:Charbonneau Pk (WA)642 CAMPGROUND ROAD Burbank WA 99323 GPS Info. (Latitude, Longitude): 46.25556, -118.84472 From Pasco, WA: Take U.S. Highway 12 eastbound. After crossing the Snake River Bridge take the next left which will be State Route 124. Continue east on State Route 124, through Burbank, WA, and pass the turn-off to Ice Harbor Lock and Dam/Visitor Center. Continue eastbound on State Route 124 and turn left, heading north on Sun Harbor Drive. Follow Sun Harbor Drive for 1.5 miles and take a left on Charbonneau Road which will take you into the park.
