Description

Buffalo Campground offers that special blend of being far enough from town that there is no corner store while being close enough that the drive to and from home is a part of the total pleasant getaway. Located southwest of Denver, CO at an elevation of 7,400 feet, Buffalo Campground offers a wonderful opportunity for individuals or families to enjoy the great outdoors. Nearby is Buffalo Creek and the Colorado Trail, which provides ample hiking and biking opportunities, is only 1/4 mile away. Summer temperatures range from 75-80 degrees during the day to a pleasant 55-65 degrees at night. Wildlife is abundant in the surrounding areas. There is drinking water available as well as vault toilets.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. 2 night minimum on weekends. 3 night minimum on holidays. This campground has first-come, first-serve sites. A fee of $5 for extra vehicles will be collected at the campground. Campground host has bear awareness information available. Campers must keep food and other bear attractants enclosed in a hard-sided vehicle when items are not in use (tents or pop-up trailers are not considered hard-sided vehicles). The extra vehicle fee applies to the third vehicle per campsite. All vehicles must be parked on the parking spur and not block traffic. There is no fishing within the facility. No discharge of firearms or fireworks. Limited water available - no water hookups Maximum 8 persons per site (except for group campgrounds)water. Quiet Hours 10 pm to 6 am Check in : 2 pm checkout is 12 pm
REGARDLESS OF THE LENGTH OF THE PARKING SPUR, THERE MAY BE ONLY ONE RECREATIONAL VEHICLE PER SINGLE CAMP SITE. DOUBLE SITES MAY HAVE TWO RECREATIONAL VEHICLES. RECREATIONAL VEHICLES ARE TRAILERS, CLASS B MOTORHOMES, CLASS C MOTORHOMES, AND CLASS A MOTORHOMES.

From Denver, Colorado, travel southwest on Highway 285, turn south on Jefferson County Road 126, travel 15 miles. Turn right on Forest Road 550, travel 5 miles to the Buffalo Campground.
