As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. We need your help to reduce the number of water-related injuries and deaths. Visitor safety is the Corps' number one priority. We actively promote water and boater safety and education programs. BROAD RIVER (GA), GADescriptionBroad River Campground is located on the south bank of the Broad River where, it joins the Savannah River, on J. Strom Thurmond Lake, the largest Corps of Engineers Lake east of the Mississippi River. This quiet, rural area is very historic, near the now flooded town of Petersburg, and the Nancy Hart Historical Site in Elbert County. The campground is 20 miles southeast of Elberton, Georgia, "Granite Capital of the World". The campground features double and triple sites, great for families and friends traveling together. All sites are equipped with water and electrical hook-ups. The ramp at the campground offers the only boating access to the Broad River. Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important InformationFamily site fees range from $16-$18. Double and triple sites range from $32-$54, and full payment is required for the site despite number of camping units. Double sites accommodate two motorized vehicles and tents limited to impact pad capacity. Single family sites accommodate 1 RV and tents limited to impact pad capacity.

Follow Hwy 72 (towards Calhoun Falls) 11 mi to Hwy 79. Turn right and follow Hwy 79 approximately 10 mi. Cross the Broad River, campground will be on left.
