BOWMAN BRIDGE (MI), MI

Description


Bowman Bridge is a heavily forested campground with shaded and secluded spots, perfect for camping and home to the varied local wildlife. Fishing is a large draw to the area with Trout, Salmon and Steelhead all stocked in the nearby river. There is a trailhead for the North Country National Scenic Hiking Trail in the campground.

Reservations are available from mid-May to mid-September and they can be made up to six months in advance for single sites, and one year in advance for group sites. Reservations must be made at least 4 days before your intended arrival date.

Alerts and Important Information

  • This campground has first-come, first-serve sites
  • There is a 2 night minimum stay on weekends
  • Group sites are tent camping only
  • Fishing is limited to fly fishing only between M-37 Bridge to Gleasons Landing.
  • A per-day, per-vehicle fee will be charged after the 3rd vehicle at single sites.
  • Spur space on single sited is limited. Most sites will not accommodate more than 2 personal vehicles or one large RV.


  • Note: The Pere Marquette River is a National Wild and Scenic River. Because of this status, special regulations apply at Bowman Bridge Campground:

    Between the dates of May 15-September 10, a special watercraft permit is required for all watercrafts being used from the Forks Landing to Indian Bridge Landing. All recreational watercraft must not enter the river before 9am and must exit by 6pm. People fishing legitimately during off hours are exempt. Watercraft Permits can be obtained by calling (616)745-4631.

    Firewood is available at or near the camping facility. Please do not bring firewood from home to the Huron-Manistee National Forest.
