BIG BEND (OK), OKDescriptionCanton Lake is located in northwest Oklahoma on the North Canadian River River, 2.5 miles from the town of Canton. Canton Lake plays host to a large number of campers, picnickers, boaters, fishermen, and hunters every year. It is one of the few places that offer these types of recreational opportunities in western Oklahoma.Canton Lake is known for its fishing opportinities especially walleye fishing. The Canton Lake "Walleye Rodeo" is held each May and draws thousands of visitors to the area. The campground supports 115 individual campsites, most of which offer a panoramic view of the lake. Visitor attractions at Big Bend include three boat ramps, a group picnic shelter, two shower houses, electric hookups, selected sites with water hookups, and a trailer dump station. Fees from April 1 to October 31 are $13-$19 a night.
There is to be 2 night minimum during Walleye Rodeo held each year in May starting Thursday after Mothers Day and ending on Sunday. Check in time for this group picnic shelter is 10:30 a.m. on Sunday mornings from May through October. The shelter will be used for worship services by the First Baptist Church of Canton between 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. 2 day minimum reservation during the Walleye Rodeo held each year in May starting Thursday after Mother's Day and ending on Sunday.
