BEAVER CREEK CABIN (ID), IDDescriptionGood fishing is found in Crooked River as well as in the beaver ponds located out the front door of the cabin. The one mile long Beaver Creek Trail leads you to the Crooked River where there are several small swimming holes.During the winter months, miles of cross-country ski trails are accessible; you may obtain maps of these trails at the Idaho City District Office. The Beaver Creek Cabin has no electricity. The plumbing functions in the summer only. The kitchen is equipped with a table and chairs, a sink, shower, and a flush toilet. Since the pipes could burst in the winter, we cannot provide running water. However, there is a double bed in one bedroom, a bunk bed in another bedroom, and a futon in the living room, bring your own bedding. A woodstove is available for heat and firewood can be gathered in the area. The cabin is located a 1/2 mile off State Highway 21, 20 miles northeast of Idaho City. This cabin is open for year round rental. During the winter, the area is closed to motorized travel and is only accessible from Highway 21 by skis or snowshoes. Parking is located at the WhoopUmUp parking lot. From the parking area, cabin users must access the trail to the cabin. The trail back to the cabin begins at Pilgrim Trail and is about one and a half miles long. The trail is classified as moderately difficult, but icy condition can increase the rating; therefore, at least one member of your group should be experienced cross-country skier or snowshoer. Remember to carry a shovel in case a storm blocks your vehicle. No groups larger than 6 people are allowed at the cabin or within the cabin yard area.
