Description

Aspen Grove Campground is located in a beautiful and aptly named mountain setting at an elevation of 7,800 feet, near Soldier Creek Dam and the Soldier Creek section of Strawberry Reservoir. Thick strands of aspen cover Loop A, offering plentiful shade. Pines dot the area as well.

The Reservoir offers plentiful fishing, boating and canoeing opportunities, and the Aspen Grove Marina on Strawberry Reservoir is located less and 1/4 mile, from the campground, with a boat ramp, small general store, boat rental, slip rental, and fish cleaning station. Fishing is good for Rainbow and Cutthroat trout, and Kokanee Salmon.

Other nearby attractions include 75 miles of trails in the Strawberry OHV Trail System, several well-maintained mountain biking trails, and numerous day use facilities on the shores of Strawberry Reservoir. The 12-mile, out-and-back Strawberry Narrows Trail begins at the marina and offers excellent hiking with beautiful views of the reservoir. Strawberry Visitor Center has interpretive displays, a working fish trap and egg collection station, and a nature trail.

Flush toilets and running water are available, although water may be shut off after Labor Day. This campground has two loops. Loop A is forested and shady, and contains a few reservable sites, as well as a small walk-to tent-only area with flat grassy areas for tents. Some sites in Loop A have covered picnic tables. Loop B contains most of the campground's reservable this loop. There are no hookups or telephone available at Aspen Grove, but cell phone service is available with some carriers.
