Description

White River campground is located in California, NOT Mt Rainier National Park in Washington state.

This USFS campground is located in the Hot Springs Ranger District of the Sequoia National Forest, southeast of Porterville, CA. There are fishing and hiking opportunities nearby. Hot Springs nearby. This is remote location, no nearby services. Approximate season dates are 4/15 to 10/15.

  • Giant Sequoia Mercantile Now Open In Springville, CA
    The Giant Sequoia Mercantile offers a wide variety of books, maps, gifts, local art, and other merchandise that will serve to make your trip to the Monument more memorable. Beginning in mid-June 2009 - the Giant Sequoia Mercantile will also be offering a variety of camping equipment and supplies making it the perfect palce to stop for those last minute items you may have left at home.

  • A second Giant Sequoia Mercantile is scheduled to open on the 4th of July at 13247 Sierra Way in Kernville, CA - the southern gateway to the Giant Sequoia National Monument.

    Alerts and Important Information

  • Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance.
  • There is a 3 night minimum for holiday weekends.
  • Quiet hours 10pm to 6am
  • Pets must be leashed at all times.
  • Camping fee includes entry for one vehicle and one legally towed vehicle. Maximum of two vehicles per site. A fee for additional vehcile will be collected at the campground by the camp hosts.
  • All equipment must fit on the site pad.
  • Vehicles park in developed areas only. No overflow parking available.
  • No all-terrain or off-highway vehicle use in the campground.
  • No usage of chansaws, firearms or fireworks allowed.
  • This is a remote campground no nearby services.
  • CAUTION: Bears frequent the area. All food must be kept in approved containers.

    From Highway 99 turn east on J22. Travel on J22 through California Hot Springs to the "T" intersection then turn right at intersection M56 through Pineflat. Go 3 miles on the gravel road and turn right across the bridge. The entrance is 1/4 mile past the bridge on the right hand side.
