WENCH CREEK (CA), CA

Description

Wench Creek Campground is located in a beautiful Ponderosa Pine Forest on the east shore of Union Valley Reservoir. There are 2 group campsites and several single-family campsites. The family sites are available on a first-come, first-serve basis only. The reservoir makes water activities readily available. Other activities include hiking and biking. The Union Valley Bike Trail runs right through the campground.

Firewood is sold at the campground, but depending on weather conditions there may be fire restrictions. Contact the Eldorado Information Center at (530) 644-6048 for local information and conditions.

Reservations are available from mid-June through Labor Day weekend. They can be made up to six months in advance for the single family sites and up to one year in advance for the group sites. Reservations must be made at least 3 days before your intended arrival date.

Alerts and Important Information

  • A per day, per vehicle fee will be collected beginning with the 3rd vehicle. (excluding the group sites)
  • CAUTION: Bears and other wildlife are frequent in this area. Keep your campsite clean, food properly stored, and the dumpsters locked.

On Highway 50, go 21 miles east of Placerville to Riverton. Turn left on Icehouse Riverton Road. Go 19 miles north to Wench Creek turnoff, turn left to campground.
