Alerts and Important Information

Entry to the shelter is by combination lock. Please call the ranger District at 541-782-2283 5 days prior to your arrival to confirm the combination for the gate lock. There is a two-night minimum on weekends. Reservations must be made 4 days in advance. Refunds will not be made based on natural conditions.

Although most of the route to this site is paved, the last 7 miles of road to this shelter is rough and narrow.

The surrounding site provides additional space for camper or tent camping. Maximum occupancy of the site is 20 people. Mosquitoes are very bothersome from snowmelt in early July to mid-August. Come prepared.

Please bring your own garbage bags and clean the facility before you leave. This is a "Pack it in, Pack it out" site.

Please bring sleeping bags/bedding, as well as a flashlight or lantern for emergencies, first aid kit, washcloths and towels, and dish soap.

All Forest Service Cabin Rentals are No Smoking facilities. As this is a wooden structure, please be extremely cautious when using lanterns, cook stoves and the wood stove.

Because of the proximity to a campground, occupants must keep noise levels reasonable and respect the quiet hours between 10:00 PM and 6:00 AM.

Please contact the Ranger District prior to arriving at the cabin/lookout rental to check on any restrictions or conditions, such as fire or road closures, weather or storms, etc., that may affect the quality of your visit. Feedback on your experience with the Timpanogas Cabin facility is welcome; you may call 541-782-2283.
