THIRTY MILE (CO), CO

Description

Thirty Mile Campground is located along the Rio Grande River, 1 mile from the Rio Grande Reservoir at an elevation of 9,300 feet. The area has beautiful scenery and a rustic atmosphere. Restrooms are provided. Roads are gravel. Interpretive programs are provided. Firewood is available for sale at the site. Two wilderness trails start at this campground.

Alerts and Important Information

This campground has first-come, first served sites. A fee per day for extra vehicles will be collected at the campground. No refunds are given for bad weather. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. 2 night minimum on weekends. 3 night minimum on holidays.

From Alamosa, go west on US 160 to South Fork. Turn northwest on State Highway 149 through Creede. Continue on Highway 149 to mile marked 41, turn west (gravel road) on Rio Grande Reservoir Road for 12 miles to the Thirty Mile Campground.
