Description

Te-Ah campground is located 28 miles east of Cedar City, Utah, in an Aspen forest about 1/2 mile distance from Navajo lake. Most of the campsites have a small amount of shade. Excellent hiking, biking, and fishing opportunities. Pinks trail from upper portion of campground into pink cliffs is 1/2 mile long; Virgin River Rim trail provides beautiful views of the Virgin River basin and of Zion National Park. Attractions nearby include Bryce Canyon National Park, Zion National Park, Cedar Breaks National Monument.

The Cedar City Ranger District will TRY to have the Te-Ah campground open for walk-in (first-come, first-serve) camping by Memorial Day weekend, depending on the weather conditions. Following Labor Day weekend, the campground will close to reservations, but will remain open for walk-in campers (water, flush toilets) until late September. It will then stay open for dry camping (pit toilet & no water) until the snow falls.

Facilities: Culinary water piped from a developed spring, a fire ring and table at each unit, firewood is for sale by the camp host, 2 flush toilets and 1 pit toilet, NO showers, central garbage bins, trailer dump station adjacent to the campground, Maximum RV length is 24 feet. Commercial fishing boat rentals, launching, lodging, and groceries are available at the Navajo Lake Lodge.

Parking Fees: For single units, the first vehicle is free, thereafter a fee of $6.00 is charged for each additional car.

Pets must be leashed and cleaned up after. No discharging firearms or fireworks.

Campground has 41 single units, and 1 group unit (site #33) designated for bicycle tour groups. Site #33 is reserved for traveling bicycle tour groups, because they need it for just 1 or two days. It does NOT require a 3 night minimum stay on holiday weekends. It can hold a maximum of 20 people, but best fits 15.

Parking can hold 4 conventional sized vehicles without trailers, OR 2 vehicles with trailers. Site fee is $30.00 a night. The site provides amenities tailored to bicycle tour groups. It has a work space next to the parking lot for self-contained kitchens, 3 picnic tables, a bicycle wash rack, and a bicycle parking rack.

Alerts and Important Information

ATV POLICY: Te-ah campground is closed to unloading and/or operating of ATV's. The entire Navajo Lake basin is closed to any and all ATV use. ATV's may be hauled into and out of campgrounds on a trailer, but not unloaded or ridden anywhere within the Navajo Lake basin. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends, except for site #33.
