TABLE MOUNTAIN (ANGELES) (CA), CADescription*Note: There are 2 Table Mountain Campgrounds in California. This one is located in the Angeles-Big Pines area.* Just a few miles outside the Los Angeles metro area, Table Mountain Campground is located in the Angeles National Forest is great for a quick weekend getaway. The campground is just 3 miles from Wrightwood, CA at an elevation of 7200ft. This campground is set in a hilly, oak and pine setting with two large meadows. Temperatures average in the low 80's on summer days with cool evenings. Activities include sightseeing, hiking, picnicking, and nature study. Sites are range from level meadow locations that to more shaded and hilly sites. They are reasonably close to vault toilets, have paved spurs and fire pits. Water spigots are relatively close, spaced out about every 6 sites. There are several types of sites available:
Table Mountain Campground is open from late April to mid-November. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance, but must be made at least 4 days prior to your intended arrival date. Beginning the last week in September, reservations will only be taken in the Apache, Broken Blade, Twisted Arrow and Zuni loops and at the amphitheater. Some sites are available for first come first serve campers. Firewood can be purchased on-site from the host. During hot and dry summer months, fire restrictions are common and campfires may be prohibited. Please check for current fire restrictions with the Angeles National Forest at (661)296-9710.
