TAKHLAKH LAKE CAMPGROUND (WA), WADescriptionTakhlakh Lake is situated on the northwest side and at the base of Mt. Adams in the State of Washington. This location offers breathtaking views of not only Mt. Adams, but also Mt. Rainier, and Mt. Saint Helens. The campground consists of 54 back in sites that have parking spurs that vary from 15 to 40 feet in length. The Premium Sites are adjacent to the lake. This quiet well shaded location makes a great base camp for activities like: fishing, hunting, hiking, bike riding, and sight seeing.Services & Amenities:
Alerts and Important InformationNOTE: A series of winter storms occurring the fall of 2006 caused extensive damage to many roads and trails across the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. As a result, there will be no road access to Takhlakh Campground from the south via Forest Road 23 or west via Forest Road 90 during the 2007 camping season. A major Washout occurred on Forest Road 23, closing the road five miles south of Takhlakh Campground near Babyshoe Pass. It is not known when reconstruction of the road will be completed. Please check local conditions before traveling to the Forest. For current information, contact Cowlitz Valley Ranger District at 360-497-1100. Getting There:Takhlakh Lake Campground (WA)PO BOX 59 Randle WA 98377 GPS Info. (Latitude, Longitude): 46.27778, -121.59889 Take exit #68 off of I-5 and go east on US Highway 12 to Randle, Washington; turn south onto State Highway 131 and proceed 1 mile, stay left at the Y and proceed southeast on Forest Road 23 for 30 miles to Forest Road 2329, then turn left and follow Forest Road 2329. Follow right turn on Road 2329 at junction of Forest Road 5601 and proceed 3/4-mile to the campground. The last 7 miles of Forest Road 23 are gravel surfaced.
