SNOWBANK CAMPGROUND (MT), MT

Description

Snowbank Campground is located approximately 29 miles south of Livingston in the Mill Creek Drainage on Mill Creek, near the western edge of the Absaroka/Beartooth Wilderness. Snowbank has All Terrain Vehicle and bike trails as well hiking trails nearby.

Alerts and Important Information

Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance. This campground has first-come, first-served sites. Two non-towed vehicles may be parked per site; the first vehicle is included in the basic fee, the second vehicle is charged the extra fee. A fee of $8.00 for an extra vehicle will be collected at the campground. Campground Management reserves the right to substitute equivalent sites without advance notice. Sites may be available on a first come-first served basis outside and during the reservation season. Please call 406-587-9054 for more details concerning the availability for this campground outside the reservation season. A fee for exceeding the number of people listed in the reservation for group sites will be collected at the campground. Bears frequent the area; all food must be kept in approved containers.

Take Hwy 89 south from Livingston, 16 miles to the Mill Creek turn off, Forest Service Road #486, (Pray turnoff). Turn left (east) on Mill Creek Road cross the East River Road (Hwy 540) and continue east for 11 miles to Snowbank Campground.

From Mammoth, WY in Yellowstone National Park, travel north on Hwy 89, 36 miles to the Mill Creek (Pray) turn off. Turn right onto Mill Creek Road, Forest Service Road #486, cross the East River Road and travel 11 miles to the Snowbank Campground.
