SMITH SPRINGS (TN), TN

Description

Smith Springs Recreation Area is located on scenic J. Percy Priest Lake just outside of Nashville in the wooded, rolling hills of middle Tennessee. Visitors here enjoy boating, fishing, and swimming as well as many other outdoor activities. Many types of wildlife can be seen including white-tailed deer and the occasional skunk or raccoon. One picnic shelter is available for reservation. Additional amenities include restroom facilities and a boat launch.

Alerts and Important Information

This is a Day-use area. There is no overnight camping allowed. Vehicles are not permited off roadways. A day use park host is available to assist visitors with park information. Smith Springs Day Use has one picnic shelter available for reservations. *Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.* The recreation area is open April 01 to October 30 and the shelter fee is $40/day for up to 50 people. The shelter can accommodate up to 12 vehicles and 50 people. However, the reservation is for the shelter only, not parking. Arrive early and carpool as much as possible. Prohibited items include alcohol, ATV's, ORV's, and items such as public address systems and amusement rides. Activities other than picnicking activities must be approved by the Resource Manager and may require a Special Event Permit. Pets are required to be on a leash at all times. Vehicles are not permitted off roadways and must be parked in designated spaces. Smith Springs does not give rain checks nor do they give refunds for inclement weather. From downtown Nashville take I-40 east 5 miles to exit 219, Stewarts Ferry Pike, Right on Stewarts Ferry Pike, straight thru light on Bell Road 4 miles, left on Smith Springs Road 2 miles, recreation area on left. Take first right after entering the recreation area.
