POST CREEK GUARD STATION (CA), CADescriptionThe Forest Service Post Creek Guard Station is located within a remote area of the Shasta-Trinity National forest. There is a wonderful view of the Beegum Creek drainage to the north. This historic station is eligible for inclusion to the National Register of Historic Places.The cabin has an inside flush toilet but no electricity. Cold running water is located inside the station, but is unsafe for drinking. The kitchen area has a table and chairs. It does not have a stove or refrigerator. You must provide all of your domestic and drinking water. You will need to supply your own dished, utensils and cookware. Outside there is a fire pit and picnic table. The cabin does not have any heat. The maximum capacity for the cabin is six. There are two twin beds in the bedroom. You must provided additional sleeping pads. No linens or bedding is provided. This station is located approximately 20 miles west of Platina California. Many hiking opportunities are located in this area. All smoking must be done outside of the building. During extreme fire conditions smoking must be done within enclosed vehicles. Most of the travel routes to the station are on paved roads. However, the last 10 miles of travel are on gravel roads. Alerts and Important InformationPaved roads lead to the station. Fireworks are always prohibited on all national forest lands. Off-highway vehicles are also only allowed on designated road and trails. Follow Forest Road 45 until you come to the intersection with Forest Road 28N36. Turn right on 28N36 and follow until you see the green gate on the right.
