Cabin is equipped with a double plywood bunk, a single plywood bunk, a sleeping loft accessed by a ladder, table, benches, oil stove for heat, and an outhouse. It has no mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags, pads, cookstove, cooking gear, and food. Bring #1 fuel oil for the stove (generally 10 gallons for a 3-day stay). A mooring buoy for boat anchorage is available to cabin users or general forest users, whichever comes first. Firewood is not provided for campfires. Brown bear frequent the area. 16'x16' modified A-frame cabin that can accommodate 7 people. Cabin was built in 1994 by volunteers from the US Coast Guard Air Station in Sitka and local volunteers. Access by floatplane or boat. There are NO discounts for Golden Age and Golden Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. The person holding the reservation must be 18 and must be a member of the party using the cabin. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1 - September 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1 - April 30. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone. Located 30 miles north of Sitka within Schulze Cove, on the north side of Fish Bay, the northwest coast of Baranof Island. From Sitka, boat access is 90 minutes, air access is 20 minutes.
