PETERSON LAKE CABIN (AK), AK

Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, propane wall furnace and an outside toilet and dock. It does not have matresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads, cook, stoves, cooking gear and food. Reservations are restricted to 2 nights per stay. The person holding the reservation for this cabin must be at least 18 years of age, and must be a member of the party using the cabin. Use of the cabin by a commercial operator, such as an outfitter or guide, is NOT allowed. There are NO discounts for Golden Age or Golden Access Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. Propane for the wall furnace is provided. Bring personal flotation devices for the boat. Oars are provided. Lake is approximately one mile long and narrow. Area around the lake is marshy, spruce and hemlock forest with deer, black bear and waterfowl. Access is year round to this secluded valley. Skis or snowshoes required in winter months. Open fires must be in fire rings, collect dead/down wood only.

Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone.

Alerts and Important Information

You may reserve this cabin on the day of arrival, or up to 180 days in advance. Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. Lake or stream water must be boiled or treated before drinking. Open to the public as a warming shelter daily from 10am to 5pm. Reservations are restricted to a maximum of 2 consecutive nights per stay. All garbage and food must be packed out
