PAYSON LAKES (UT), UTDescriptionPayson Lakes Campground is situated in stands of aspen and fir trees at an elevation of 8,000 feet. There is a lake within the campground where you can boat, fish, and swim. An asphalt walkway goes around the lake. There are also nearby hiking trails and open areas where recreation activities can occur. The campground is just off a National Scenic Byway, about 12 miles from Payson, a full-service community. The campground has no hook-ups or phone service. No all-terrain or off-highway vehicles allowed in the campground. Horses allowed in Group Site C only.Alerts and Important InformationPayson Lakes will be undergoing water system construction during the summer of 2009. No new reservations are being taken this year. Portions of the campground will be open on a first come basis. You will need to check just prior to your aniticipatedanticipated stay for updated information. You may check with our Area Manager (801-885-9274), our corporate office (801-226-3564) or the Forest Service (801-798-3571) to see about availability during the construction during the construction. PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN WATER. The water system at Payson Lakes is currently being upgraded. No water will be available on site during the 2009 operating season. Reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance. No ATV's or OHV's. A fee for extra vehicles will be collected at the campground. Gates close at 10pm. Horses are not required to reserve sites in the horse loops.
