PATCHING LAKE CABIN (AK), AK

Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1 - September 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1 - April 30. Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, wood stove for heat and an outside toilet. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads, cook stoves, cooking gear and food. The person holding the reservation for this cabin must be at least 18 years of age, and must be a member of the party using the cabin. There are NO discounts for Golden Age or Golden Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. No trail to Chamberlain Lake, no steelhead or salmon at this lake. Wildlife viewing includes deer, black bear, beaver and wolf. Geese and trumpeter swans may also be seen. Fishing for resident cutthroat trout. Cabin surrounded with an old growth Cedar, Spruce and Western Hemlock. There is a nice gravel bar in front of the cabin, and the area is great for exploring. 12' X 14' Pan-Abode cabin, two single/two double bunks, woodstove, outhouse and skiff with oars (skiff uses a short shaft motor not provided).

Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone.

Same day reservations allowed for this cabin. Use of this cabin by a commercial operator, such as an outfitter or guide, is NOT allowed. Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. In fall, winter, and early spring, the cabin may be inaccessible due to frozen lake surface (float planes cannot land). Please contact the local Forest Service Ranger District office for information prior to making reservations during these periods. Water should be treated or boiled prior to drinking. All garbage and food must be packed out.
