PAINTED ROCKS (CO), CO

Description

This rustic campground located approximately 7 miles north of Woodland Park at 7800' elevataion has 18 campsites with parking areas up to 30' long. The camping season usually begins in May and runs through early September. Located a short distance from Manitou Lake and the Centennial Bike Trail, Painted Rocks campground is an ideal getaway for families or singles. The lake is frequently stocked, weather permitting, and provides a great place to enjoy the great outdoors. Access to the lake is included in your campground fee. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring. There is water available in the campground as well as garbage dumpsters and valut toilets. While most sites have ponderosa pine shade, some are in full sun. The campground host has firewood for sale during the season.

Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. This campground requires a 2 night minimum stay on weekends. This campground requires a 3 night minimum stay on holidays. This campground has first-come, first-served sites. Pets must be leashed. No discharge of firearms or fireworks. Occupy site within 24 hours or forfeit. A fee of $5 for extra vehicles will be collected at the campground. Firewood is available from the camp host. Fires in fire circles only. All vehicles must be able to fit onto the parking spur without impeding the traffic along campground roadways. Extra vehicle fees are collected on the third vehicle. Motorhomes towing a vehicle are considered one vehicle. Limited water available - no water hookups Maximum 8 persons per site (except for group campgrounds) Quiet Hours 10 pm to 6 am Check in : 2 pm checkout is 12 pm
REGARDLESS OF THE LENGTH OF THE PARKING SPUR, THERE MAY BE ONLY ONE RECREATIONAL VEHICLE PER SINGLE CAMP SITE. DOUBLE SITES MAY HAVE TWO RECREATIONAL VEHICLES. RECREATIONAL VEHICLES ARE TRAILERS, CLASS B MOTORHOMES, CLASS C MOTORHOMES, AND CLASS A MOTORHOMES.

From Colorado Springs, Colorado, travel west on Highway 24 for approx. 25 miles, turn onto highway 67 and travel 5 miles from Woodland Park to campground turnoff on left side of highway. Take gravel road approx. 1/2 mile to campground entrance on left side of road.
