OAKFORK, OR

Description

Oak Fork Campground is located on the shore of Timothy Lake in the shadow of Oregon's Mount Hood. Timothy Lake was created in 1950 as a storage reservoir for the Oak Grove Hydroelectric Project. It is one of the larger lakes in the Mount Hood National Forest. At 3400ft elevation, the lake sits in a beautiful forested setting that offers spectacular views of Mt. Hood, several trails and great fishing.

The campground has paved parking spurs, accessible vault toilets, 48 standard campsites without electricity, and on-site staff. If this campground is full, try other Timothy Lake Campgrounds: Pine Point, Gone Creek, Hood View, or Clackamas Lake Campground.

Oak Fork Campground is operated by Portland General Electric (PGE) under a partnership with the National Forest Service.

Alerts and Important Information

  • This campground has a two night minimum reservation.
  • Reservations must be made at least 2 days in advance.
  • Some sites are non reservable and are available first come, first served.
  • Campsites must be occupied on first night or may be considered a "no show".
  • Check in time is 2pm, check out is 1pm.
  • No more than 6 people are allowed in any standard site.
  • Quiet time is 10pm to 6AM.
  • Pets must remain on leash.
  • All vehicles must be parked within designated parking areas.
  • A $5.00 fee will be collected on site for an extra vehicle.
  • Maximum of 2 vehicles per site.
  • ATV's and other off road vehicles are not allowed in the campground.

From Sandy, Oregon, travel east on Highway 26 for approximately 40 miles to Skyline Road (Rd 42). Turn right on Skyline Road, travel south 9 miles. Turn right on FS Road 57 for 1 mile, turn right at the Oak Fork Campground entrance sign.
