NELLIE MARTIN RIVER CABIN (AK), AK

Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, wood and oil stoves for heat and an outhouse. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads, cook stoves, cooking gear and food.
Cabin is located 3/4 mile from the landing area.

Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone.

Same day reservations are allowed for this cabin.

Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this.

Bring #1 oil for stove to heat the cabin, or can be heated with wood (not provided).

From August 1-31, only one reservation per person is permitted.

The Nellie Martin River Cabin is located within the Chugach National Forest. Some of the land within a 1/2 mile (northwest) of the cabin however is owned by Chugach Alaska Corporation (CAC), and was extensively roaded and logged by the Corporation from 1994 to 1998. Access on CAC land is by permit only. The Corporation is located at 560 E. 34th Ave. in Anchorage, Alaska 99503; or can be reached at (907) 563-8866.

The cabin is located 80 miles SW of Cordova on the north side of Nellie Martin River on Montague Island (45 minutes from Cordova; 45 minutes from Seward).
