Description

Located along the Conejos River, Mogote Campground is at an elevation of 8,300 feet. The campground is covered in mostly ponderosa pine, with a mixture of cottonwood, spruce, willow and aspen spread throughout the campground, providing plenty of shade.

There are hiking trails, one popular one is the Conejos Stock Driveway and trails among the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. The campground is in the perfect location to go fishing in the nearby river and within driving distance a couple different lakes. The campground is also in close proximity to the Cumbers & Toltec Scenic Railroad.

Sites at Magote Campground can be reserved mid-May through Labor Day weekend. Reservations can be made up to 6 months in advance for single family sites and up to one year in advance for group sites. They must be made at least four days prior to your intended arrival date.
