Description

Click here for more cabin information and maps.

The Middle Dangerous River Cabin is located 30 miles southeast of Yakutat, 200 feet east of the Dangerous River. The surrounding terrain is flat and wet, with willow and alder thickets and scattered cottonwood trees. Wildlife in the area include moose, brown bear, black bear, and waterfowl. Visitors enjoy spectacular views of the Dangerous River and its many gravel bars. This is a good hunting area. The cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, an oilstove for heat, and an outside toilet. It has no mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags and pads, cookstove, cooking gear, food, and #1 oil for the stove. Non-power boats are not recommended. There is a meatshed available at the cabin.

Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone.
