LOWER PARADISE LAKE CABIN (AK), AK

Floatplane access ONLY cabin. Winter travelers need to be able to evaluate avalanche and over-ice travel conditions. Extremely difficult winter access. Treat or boil water before consumption. The person holding the reservation must be at least 18 years of age. No commercial use allowed. Access by floatplane only in the summer months. Maximum group size allowed is 8. Cabin is equipped with wooden bunks, table, benches, a stove for heat, a boat and an outside toilet. It sleeps 4 comfortably. It does not have potable water, electricity, mattresses, or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads, cook stoves, cooking gear and food. Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone.

This cabin will be closed for maintenance from 06/26/2010 through 06/29/2010.

Reservations can be made the day of arrival, or up to 180 days in advance.

If you cancel a cabin reservation within 14 days of your scheduled arrival date, you will be charged the $10.00 service fee and forfeit the first night's recreation use fee. No-shows, Early Departures, or Cancellations after the scheduled arrival date, are not entitled to a refund. Cancellations for single night use for Alaska cabins will not be assessed a service fee.

All garbage and food must be packed out.



Occasionally poor weather can result in extended stays, and cabin users should be prepared for this. In fall, winter, and early spring, the cabin may be inaccessible due to frozen lake surface (floatplanes cannot land). Please contact the local Forest Service Ranger District office for information prior to making reservations during these periods.
