LONG MEADOW GROUP (CA), CA

Description

This USFS group campground is located in the Hot Springs Ranger District of the Sequoia National Forest, southeast of Porterville, CA. This is remote location, no nearby services. Activities include hiking and touring giant sequoias. Approximate season dates are 5/15 to 11/15.

  • Giant Sequoia Mercantile Now Open In Springville, CA
    The Giant Sequoia Mercantile offers a wide variety of books, maps, gifts, local art, and other mercandise that will serve to make your trip to the Monument more memorable. Beginning in mid-June 2009 - the Giant Sequoia Mercantile will also be offering a variety of campging equipment and supplies making it the perfect place to stop for those last minute items you may have left at home.

  • A second Giant Sequoia Mercantile is scheduled to open on the 4th of July at 13247 Sierra Way in Kernville, CA - the southern gateway to the Giant Sequoia National Monument.

    Alerts and Important Information

  • Reservations must be made at least3 days in advance.
  • There is a 3 night minimum stay on holiday weekends.
  • Quiert hours 10pm to 6am.
  • Pets must be leashed at all times.
  • No all-terrain or off-highway vehicle use in the campground.
  • No usage of chainsaws, fireamrs or fireworks allowed.

    From Highway 99 turn east on J22. Travel on J22 through California Hot Springs to the "T" intersection, turn left on M50. Travel on M50 for 10 miles to the next left turn at M107. Travel on M107 approximately 6 miles and the entrance to Long Meadow is on the right.
