LOLETA RECREATION (PA), PA

Description

This rustic campground and its historic CCC features are located along the East Branch of Millstone Creek. The campsites are spacious, shady, and screened from each other by vegetation. Each campsite has a parking spur, fire ring, and picnic table. The lower loop also has electric hookups available, but there is no dump station in the campground. A day use area offering a swimming beach, hot showers, flush toilets, pressurized water, picnic areas, pavilions, and a volleyball court is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Hiking, swimming, wildlife viewing, picnicking, and fishing are all popular activities. The campground is accessible to people with disabilities, and campground roads are paved. Alerts and Important Information

  • Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance for family sites
  • Reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance for group sites.
  • Reservations can be made from mid April through the end of October.
  • Campers must occupy their site within 24 hours or forfeit their fees.
  • No water or sewage hook-ups are provided.
  • All pets must be restrained within the campground, and livestock is not allowed.
  • Each campsite is limited to two vehicles, one wheeled camping unit, and one tent.
  • Additional vehicles will be charged and must park in public parking areas.

    • Do not bring firewood from home to the Allegheny National Forest. Do not unwittingly spread the emerald ash borer, sirex wood wasp, hemlock woolly adelgid or other firewood borne invasive species. Possession of firewood from outside the area of the Allegheny National Forest is prohibited. Firewood is available at or near camping facilities.     Loleta Campground is located in northwest Pennsylvania near Marienville. From the west, take I-80 east to Clarion, turn left onto SR 66 and continue northeast to Marienville. At the center of town in Marienville, turn right on South Forest Street (between the Gulf Station and the Bucktail Hotel) and go south 6 miles until you arrive at the Loleta Campground entrance sign. From the east, take I-80 west to Brookville, turn right on SR 36 and follow northwest. Turn right onto SR 899 and follow it northbound. Turn right on SR 66 to Marienville. At the center of town in Marienville, turn right on South Forest Street (between the Gulf Station and the Bucktail Hotel) and go south 6 miles until you arrive at the Loleta Campground entrance sign.
