This USFS campground is located in the Hot Springs Ranger District of the Sequoia National Forest, southeast of Porterville, CA. There are fishing and hiking opportunities nearby. Hot Springs nearby. This is a remote location, no nearby services.

  • Giant Sequoia Mercantile Now Open In Springville, CA
    The Giant Sequoia Mercantile offers a wide variety of books, maps, gifts, local art, and other merchandise that will serve to make your trip to the Monument more memorable. Beginning in mid-June 2009 - the Giant Sequoia Mercantile will also be offering a variety of camping equipment and supplies making it the perfect place to stop for those last minute items you may have left at home.

  • A second Giant Sequoia Mercantile is now open at 13247 Sierra Way in Kernville, CA - the southern gateway to the Giant Sequoia National Monument.

    Alerts and Important Information

  • Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance.
  • Quiet hours 10pm to 6am.
  • There is a 3 night minimum on holiday weekends.
  • The camping fee allows entry for 1 vehicle and 1 legally towed vehicle. A fee for extra vehicles will be collected by campground hosts. A maximum fo 2 vehicles per site.
  • All equipment must fit on the site pad.
  • Vehicles park in developed areas only.
  • No all-terrain or off-highway vehicle use in the campground.
  • No usage of chainsaws, firearms or fireworks allowed.
  • CAUTION: Bears frequent the area. All food must be kept in approved containers.

    From Highway 99 turn east on J22 and travel to California Hot Springs. Just before reaching Hot Springs you will enter Sequoia National Forest. Leavis Flat Campground is located to the right, about 1/4 mile past the National Forest sign. From State Highway 65, turn east at Ducor, CA on J22 (Avenue 56) and go about 24 miles to Leavis Flat Campground.
