LAKE CAMPGROUND (CA), CADescriptionJust a few miles outside the Los Angeles metro area, Lake is located in the Angeles National Forest is great for a quick weekend getaway. The campground is just 5 and 1/2 miles from Wrightwood, on Jackson Lake. Sites are secluded with scattered oak trees for shade. Temperatures are usually in the low 80s on summer days with cool evenings. Activities include sightseeing, hiking, picnicking, fishing, boating and swimming. It is close enough to Jackson Lake for campers to enjoy fishing, swimming and canoeing. The Lake is kept stocked by the Fish & Game department. Only canoes and blow-up boats are allowed on the Lake. Lake Campground is open from late April to mid-November. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance, but must be made at least 4 days prior to your intended arrival date. There are 8 campsites total, some of these sites are available for first come first serve. Firewood can be purchased on-site from the host. During hot and dry summer months, fire restrictions are common and campfires may be prohibited. Please check for current fire restrictions with the Angeles National Forest at (661)296-9710. If you reservation is cancelled you will be charged for the first night and a $20.00 no show fee.
