Description

Please do not call the Indian Boundary Outpost for reservation or campground questions. They are a private concessionaire. Call the Tellico Ranger Station for information. Pets are not allowed on the sand or in the water at the beach. Campsites are limited to 5 people, 2 vehicles and one camping trailer per site. Gate hours are 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Monday thru Sunday.
USFS Law Enforcement patrols the campground as USFS compliance officers and the Monroe County Sheriff's Department.
No public phone at campground store.
Sites are non-transferrble from one person or site to another. You must camp in the site you reserve or pay again if you move to a different site. There is additional parking for campsite visitors, boat trailers or extra vehicles at the store parking lot. Alcohol is prohibited.

Alerts and Important Information

The fee structure at Indian Boundary has two components: $10.00 for camping and $10 for electricity. The Interagency Senior and Access Passes (formerly known as the Golden Age/Access Pass) 50% discount does not include hookups for water, sewer, or electricity. Therefore, the overnight fee for Interagency Senior/Access Pass cardholders is $15 per night ($5 for camping plus $10 for electricity). Further information on the Interagency Senior/Access Pass can be found at Forest Service website. The fee in the Indian Boundary Overflow (first come, first serve campsites) is $10 per night. There are no electrical hookups in this overflow and group camping area. The fee for the Interagency Senior/Access Pass cardholders is $5 per night.

Campground road is designed for camping vehicles up to 26 feet. Customers who bring a camping vehicle larger than 26 feet and damage site, timbers, road, culvet, or any other facilities may be suject to a fine. Pets (except for service animals) are not permitted in the restrooms or showers. All campsites are reservable. Reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance. This campground requires a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends. Reservations are non-transferrable from one site to another or another person. If you move from your reserved site to another, you must pay for that site and forfeit reservation.

There is a limit of 1 camper (i.e. one pop up, RV, or towed campers) and 2 passenger vehicle per campsite that will be strictly enforced as well as the 5 person maximum per site.

Bear food storage restrictions apply. All food must be stored properly and can only be left out when being prepared or consumed. All trash must be disposed of in bear proof cans, not grills. Minimum of $50 for non-compliance.

Alcohol is prohibited. Camping equipment cannot be left unattended the first night of reservation.

From I-75 at Sweetwater, Tennessee, take State Route 68 to Tellico Plains.
From Highway 68 in Tellico Plains, take Highway 165 (Cherohala Skyway) east for 16 miles. Turn left onto FDR (Forest Development Road) 345 and travel for 2 miles to the entrance.
