HUMPBACK LAKE CABIN (AK), AKDescriptionCabin is a 12' x 14' Pan Abode with sleeping capacity for 4 - 6 people. Beds are wooden bunks single person upper bunk and double for lower bunk. The cabin is equipped with table, benches, oil stove for heat, and an outhouse. It does not have mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring their own sleeping bags, pads, cook stoves, cooking gear and food. Oil stove uses #1 diesel or kerosene only. Plan on using 5 gallons of fuel per week. The Cabin is also equipped with a skiff and oars.Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1 - September 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1 - April 30. The person holding the reservation for this cabin must be at least 18 years of age, and must be a member of the party using the cabin. There are NO discounts for Golden Age or Golden Access Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. Proximity: A private cabin located on southeast side of the lake. Trail at west end of lake offers a great view of Humpback Spectacular view on high alpine peaks with sheer granite walls. Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone. Getting There:Humpback Lake Cabin (AK)Ketchikan/Misty AK GPS Info. (Latitude, Longitude): 55.0275, -130.54 Approximately 48 air miles southeast of Ketchikan, east of Mink Bay on the mainland. Accessible by floatplane. This cabin is in a designated Wilderness area, and access by helicopter is illegal. Refer to USGS Ketchikan A-2.
