HORSE THIEF (AZ), AZDescriptionThis cabin is nestled in the Bradshaw Mountains near Horsethief Lake Basin and the Castle Creek Wilderness in the Prescott National Forest. The cabin has running water, hot water, a flush toilet, shower and electricity, and a first aid kit. The kitchen has all the basic amenities including a sink, propane stove/oven, refrigerator, table and six chairs. You will need to supply your own dishes, utensils, and cookware. Outside, there is a grill and three picnic tables. The cabin has heating and fans for cooling. The maximum capacity for the cabin is six people. There are four beds for in the cabin, two twin beds, one queen bed, and one double futon. This cabin is near Horsethief Basin Lake that offers non-motorized boating and fishing. Hiking opportunities are numerous on several trails of the Castle Creek Wilderness. Off-highway vehicles have several roads and trails available for travel. A lookout tower and a campground are in close proximity.Services & Amenities:

(Latitude, Longitude): 45.425, -116.5 From Phoenix, take I-17 North to Exit #259. Go west on County Road #73. Continue west 3.5 miles to Cordes to the stop sign. Turn left (south) onto County Road #179; travel 3.5 miles to a "Y". Stay right at the "Y" and travel another half-mile to a stop sign. Turn right onto County Road #59 travelling west, and stay on this road through Cleator to Crown King. At the turnoff into Crown King, the road becomes Forest Road #259 (FR259A). Continue straight on FR259A past the turn-off approximately 0.6 mile to a road junction. Stay left on FR52 and drive 5.7 miles to Horsethief Cabin. The cabin is on the right side of the road.
