HORSE CAMPGROUND (CA), CADescriptionLocated in Northern Sierra Nevada Mountains, Plumas County, California, on Little Grass Valley Reservoir. Elevation 5000 feet. Pacific Crest trail is accessible from this campground. Facilities include gravel spurs and vault toilets. No piped in water available. All sites have hitching rail, fire pit and picnic table. Boat ramp and sanitary dump station available. Full service store within five miles. Ten interpretive programs scheduled at the Amphitheater including Kids fishing Derby and Smokey Bears birthday. Turn right and go 16 miles to La Porte Rd (County Rd 514). Turn left and go 27 miles through the town of La Porte. Continue for 2 miles to the Recreation Area information signs.
