HONEYMOON FLAT (CA), CA

Description

Located in the mountains with large Jeffrey pine trees, aspen trees, and sagebrush. Robinson Creek runs by the campground, and Upper and Lower Twin Lakes are a short drive away. Hoover Wilderness is nearby. This is a primitive campground with vault toilets. Potable water and fire rings are provided, and firewood is sold at the campground. Interpretive programs are provided at Robinson Creek Campground. There is good fishing on Robinson Creek and at Upper/Lower Twin Lakes, and there are good hiking opportunities in the area. Alerts and Important Information

*This campground has first-come, first-served sites* Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. There is a 2 day minimum stay on weekends. There is a 3 day minimum stay on holiday weekends. An additional fee for extra vehicles will be collected per day at the campground. No refunds are given for bad weather or dissatisfaction with the site. CAUTION: Black bears frequent this area. All food must be kept in approved containers. At least once guest must occupy the site the first 24 hours for the site to be held. Leaving an empty vehicle or camp equipment does not signify occupancy. You may only stay a combined total of 14 days per season at any of the sites in the Twin Lake Drainage area. This site is in that Drainage area. Maximum of 6 people per site.

Take US Highway 395 through Bridgeport. Turn south on the Twin Lakes Road at the Texaco. Travel on the Twin Lakes Road for about 8.1 miles. Turn right at Honeymoon Campground.
