As the nation's largest federal provider of outdoor and water-based recreation, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites you and your family to have a safe and enjoyable visit to one of the Corps' more than 400 lakes and more than 2,400 recreation sites nationwide. During your visit to these sites or the thousands of other federal lands and waters, we encourage you and your loved ones to always wear a properly fitted life jacket when boating or playing on or near the water. We need your help to reduce the number of water-related injuries and deaths. Visitor safety is the Corps' number one priority. We actively promote water and boater safety and education programs. GUNTER HILL (AL), ALDescriptionGunter Hill Campground offers the peaceful scene of trees and nature overlooking the backwaters of the Alabama River. The fishing is excellent, providing challenges for the master angler as well as the occasional cane pole. The park also provides good bowhunting opportunities for whitetail deer.Services & Amenities:
