Alerts and Important InformationEntry to the lookout is by combination lock. Call the Sisters Ranger District (541-549-7700) one week in advance to get the gate combination. Check in time is 2pm. Check out time is 12:00pm. Maximum persons allowed is 4, but there is only one futon available (sleeps two) so others must bring their own cot or sleeping pad. No bedding is provided. THERE IS NO POTABLE WATER AVAILABLE, so visitors must bring plenty of water for drinking, washing, cleaning, cooking, and doing dishes. Please bring garbage bags and clean the facility before you leave. This facility is "Pack it in. Pack it out." Please read and follow the posted âÂÂHousekeeping ProceduresâÂÂ. Early and late season travel may require high clearance four-wheel drive vehicles. If snow blocks access to the facility during the early season, opening may be delayed. In the event of a delayed opening, your reservation will be canceled and your money refunded to you. Green Ridge Lookout is a remote location and Forest Service personnel may not always be available for assistance, especially after hours and week-ends. Cell Phone Service may be marginal at times, but one should not have to travel far to find a clear signal. Because this is an active fire lookout, staffed by volunteers from the local community, it is not available for public use during the months of July, August, and early September. All Forest Service Lookout rentals are No Smoking facilities. Pets are allowed outside only. Please bring sleeping bags/bedding, as well as a flashlight or lantern for emergencies, first aid kit, washcloths and towels, and dish soap. Please contact the Ranger District prior to arriving at the cabin/lookout rental to check on any restrictions or conditions, such as fire closures, road, weather or storms, etc., that may affect the quality of your visit.
