Description

Click here for more cabin information and maps.

Goulding Lake Cabin is located in a flat, lightly wooded area on the northwest shore of Otter Lake. The surrounding terrain varies from open muskegs to densely forested steep slopes. There are cutthroat trout below the falls and in the lower lake. Dolly Varden fishing is year round, while steelhead and coho fishing are seasonal. Photo opportunities abound. A-frame cabin is equipped with sleeping loft, wooden bunks, table, benches, woodstove for heat, and an outhouse. It has no mattresses or cooking utensils. Cabin users should bring sleeping bags, pads, cookstove, cooking gear, and food. A skiff with oars is provided for cabin users only; bring personal flotation devices. A 2-10 HP longshaft outboard motor (not provided) enhances use of skiff. There are NO discounts for Golden Age and Golden Passports for Alaska cabin rentals. The person holding the reservation must be 18 and must be a member of the party using the cabin. Reservations are restricted to a maximum stay of 7 consecutive nights per party for any one reservation May 1 - September 30 and a maximum stay of 10 consecutive nights per party October 1 - April 30. Access by floatplane only. This cabin is in a designated Wilderness area, and access by helicopter is illegal.

Effective November 17, 2003, reservations for Alaska cabins will be subject to a new policy allowing only one change per reservation. A change in reservation is defined as a modification to the start or end date of the reservation. After one change has been made, if additional changes are desired, the customer must cancel the reservation and at a later time, re-book the new dates. This policy has been established to assure that reservations for cabins are fair and equitable for everyone.
