GONE CREEK, ORDescriptionGone Creek Campground is located on the shore of Timothy Lake in the shadow of Oregon's Mount Hood. Timothy Lake was created in 1950 as a storage reservoir for the Oak Grove Hydroelectric Project. It is one of the larger lakes in the Mount Hood National Forest. At 3400ft elevation, the lake sits in a beautiful forested setting that offers spectacular views of Mt. Hood, several trails and great fishing.The campground has paved parking spurs, accessible vault toilets, 50 standard campsites without electricity, and on-site staff. If this campground is full, try other Timothy Lake Campgrounds: Oak Fork, Hood View, Pine Point, or Clackamas Lake Campground. Gone Creek Campground is operated by Portland General Electric (PGE) under a partnership with the National Forest Service.
