Description

Located 16 miles from Foresthill on Sugar Pine Reservoir, this campground is at an elevation of 3700 feet . Giant Gap has 30 single campsites, set in a cedar and pine forest overlooking the water. Days are warm to hot and nights are cool. Campers come here to fish, hike, bike, swim, and boat. Do not confuse this campground with Sugar Pine Point. This campground is located near Foresthill City.

Alerts and Important Information

This is Giant Gap, also known as Sugar Pine, near Foresthill, California. It is not Sugar Pine Point State Park. Is this the park you're looking for? This campground has first-come, first-served sites. Reservations must be made at least 4 days in advance. A per day fee for extra vehicles is collected on site beginning with the 3rd vehicle at single sites. If bringing a trailer, consider the length of the tow vehicle as part of the entire length. Please check in with the campground manager upon arrival.

Take Interstate 80 to the Foresthill/Auburn Exit near Auburn. Continue east 17 miles to Foresthill. Travel through town about 9 miles to Forest Road 10 / Sugar Pine Road. Turn left and go about 9 miles. Look for the Sugar Pine Rec. Area sign. Turn right on the first road after the sign and continue about 1.5 miles to the campground area. The road ends at Shirttail and Giant Gap Campgrounds.
